Hanzi (汉子) is Chinese characters as in Hanyu (汉语) is Chinese language. I learned this language some time ago, last year, I think. But, back then, I only learned the pinyin. It was quite okay, actually. I was able to introduce myself and my family, numbers, mention time, etc.
Now, 我学习汉语 again. I also learn the 汉语. This time, the learning is so tough because I must also learn the 汉字!
Let’s see now. I am now able to greet in Chinese: 你好!你好吗?我很好你呢?我也很好.
As I learn more and more about Hanzi, I get to fall in love deeper and deeper with this language. They’re not actually characters. I read on the Internet that Chinese language is called Ideogram. Each character is actually representing something. For example, the character 好 which literally means good. It contains character (radical, in this case) woman (女) and daughter (子). So, woman (mother) and daughter means good.
I have only been learning 汉字 for 3 months, but I am optimistic that I can master it in one year or so. At least, I can communicate with the language with my fellow Indonesians who speak 汉字.
I love this language. Such a beautiful language.
